It is also exemplary of the cooperation between Switzerland and France, with a cross-border cable car as the emblem of this interconnected region.

The Salève Cable Car: Experiencing a Living Landscape. Maurice Braillard architect looks at the mountain infrastructure designed by architect Maurice Braillard and engineer André Rebuffel and opened in 1932, it is a modern masterpiece that opened up trade and tourism. The awarding-winning renovation project completed in 2024, led by Devaux & Devaux, served to preserve this heritage while showcasing the wider area’s natural beauty.
